Killipedes

Species: Scolopendra omnivorax

An insectoid life-form — also known as “fearwigs” — indigenous to the planet Janus 5.

Centipede-like in appearance, a killipede possesses large, powerful pincers at the anterior and posterior ends of its segmented body, one pair of legs per body segment, crushing mandibles and an extendable, prehensile tongue tipped with a barbed bony spike used to impale and snare prey.

Juvenile specimens average 2-6 feet in length; adults measure up to 12 feet.

Having dog-level intelligence, killipedes are capable of emitting telepathic energy to stimulate the fear centers of animal (including human) brains.
